The district is known for fabric knitting through handloom. Owing to the high demand of cotton clothing, there is also a huge demand for handloom products prepared using traditional technology. Weaving is done in urban as well as rural areas of the district. Presently, about 11200 weavers are engaged in textile weaving in the district.
Barabanki has many places of importance from the time of Mahabharata like Kunteshwar Mahadev temple known as established by Kunti mother of Pandavas and near by is a special tree called Parijat tree and Kanwariyas Mahadeva. District Barabanki is one among the four districts of Faizabad division and the district headquarters are situated at the Nawab Ganj in Barabanki city. Mineral found in the district is sand which is available in sufficient quantity on river banks and is used for construction works. Moreover the Barabanki district is also noted for its deposits of brick earth. UPSIDC, Kursi Road, Industrial Area, Dewa Road, Industrial Area, Rasool Panah and Mini Industrial Area, Ismailpur, Dewa are few industrial areas in the district.
